Malone Given Parsons Ltd. was retained by the Region of Waterloo to undertake an asset inventory and gap analysis of the existing economic development framework in Waterloo Region. The consultant team conducted an extensive stakeholder consultation exercise, together with a study of economic development best practices, to recommend an economic development framework that would improve inefficiencies, address gaps and would position the region as strongly as possible to encourage strong and strategic investment attraction.
The study also addressed how best to optimize the use of current and future employment areas to achieve regional and local economic objectives; and the institutional framework that would best realize the region’s potential.
