Malone Given Parsons Ltd. was retained by United Castan Corporation to provide land use planning and feasibility analysis in the creation of a redevelopment plan for 180 acres of land in the West Port area on Toronto’s waterfront. This land is the largest redevelopment site on the harbour, and was being considered for the Olympic Village for Toronto’s bid for the 2008 Summer Olympic Games.

The planning vision for the land is to create a sustainable community providing live/work opportunities in a mixed use development, taking full advantages of the site’s waterfront location and stunning views of the city skyline, harbour and islands. The vision proposes development of intensities sufficient to fund soil remediation and renaturalization of degraded habitats.
